Chris Venables, owner of Venables Pest Control, provides professional pest management services across domestic and commercial sites in and around the Gloucester area. With extensive hands-on experience tackling challenging infestations, Chris focuses on selecting reliable products and combining them with a strong understanding of pest behaviour to deliver effective long-term control for his customers.
A Reliable Option for Challenging Bed Bug Infestations
Bed bugs remain one of the most persistent pests faced by professional pest controllers. Successful control depends not only on treatment techniques but also on selecting an insecticide capable of delivering consistent and effective results.
Over the past 12 months, Chris has used Fendona® 6SC as a stand-alone insecticide treatment across more than 40 sites, achieving full eradication in every case.
“Bed bugs are one of the pests where you need complete confidence in the product you’re using,” Chris explains: “In my experience, Fendona® delivers that reliability.”
Across the sites treated, eradication was typically achieved with two chemical applications, although some infestations required a third treatment depending on population size and natural movement of the insects.
Low Dose, High Effectiveness
One of the key advantages of Fendona® 6SC is its efficiency. Even at the minimum application rate of 25 ml per 5 litres of water, the suspension concentrate formulation provides reliable control.
Lower dose rates can also reduce the irritation insects experience when encountering treated surfaces. This allows bed bugs to forage more naturally across treated areas, increasing the likelihood of prolonged exposure to the active ingredient.
“The product remains very effective, even at lower rates,” says Chris, “and the reduced irritation that results from these lower rates can help increase exposure during the insects’ natural movement.”
Strong Surface Adhesion and Residual Action
Containing Alphacypermethrin, the formulation adheres well to treated surfaces, particularly hard or vertical surfaces commonly encountered in insect pest control.
This factor makes Fendona® 6SC particularly suitable for cockroach control, where insects frequently travel across walls, pipe runs and structural fixtures. The product also provides strong residual performance, with dead insects sometimes still being found more than 30 days after treatment in real-world environments.
“For cockroach control especially, it gives you confidence that insects moving across treated areas will receive a lethal exposure,” Chris notes.

Combining Chemical and Physical Methods
While Fendona® 6SC is used as the primary insecticide, Chris often supports treatments with non-chemical methods for extra efficacy. Steam or heat treatments can provide immediate knockdown of exposed insects and eggs, while the insecticide delivers the residual activity needed to control remaining individuals over time.
This integrated approach helps maximise treatment success while reducing the likelihood of re-infestation.
Confidence Through Consistency
For professional pest controllers, reliability is essential when selecting insecticides. Choosing inferior products to reduce costs can ultimately increase treatment time and prolong infestations.
“For pests like bed bugs or cockroaches, reliability is everything,” Chris says. “You need confidence that the product will do the job.”
With its dependable formulation, effective residual action and strong performance at moderate dose rates, Fendona® 6SC has proven to be a valuable tool for professional pest control programmes.
“Reliable products save time and give you confidence,” Chris concludes. “For me, Fendona® ticks those both of those boxes.”
